Khoi Khonnexion, artists and musicians will provide an incredible demonstration on the creation of the mouth bow Making music is the most primeval form of human expression, imbued with a mystical power to communicate at an instinctual level that transcends language and speaks direct to the soul. The San bushmen of the Kalahari desert are Africa’s oldest inhabitants and, for them,music and dance are not merely creative expressions, but an integral part of their being.The bow and arrow that was used for hunting, was also used to make music. Jesus Christ Superstar | 25 – 28 October 2017
Jesus Christ Superstar – the 1970’s rock opera with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice. It is based on the Bible’s account of the last week of Jesus’s life on earth. However the story gets told from a fictional, human perspective: that of Judas who possibly grappled with finding answers to the issues of the time as a human.

Due to family illness, Christopher Park is no longer able to travel to South Africa at this time. Fortunately his violin partner Amalia Hall is still available to take over the concert and she will be performing a wonderful programme of sonatas for violin and piano with Portuguese/South African pianist José Dias.

Sugar-daddy Theatre co. presents, Thirst, by Eugene O’Neill. The play is set a hundred years ago in 1917. The play seeks to highlight the importance of water in it’s own existential way and can be seen as a metaphor for life.

Following his recent residency in Europe, Claude Chandler returns to South Africa for his latest solo exhibition. Tr!pt3ch presents a series of two large scale acrylic on canvas triptychs – ‘Binary Saints’ and ‘CTRL ALT DEL’. The titles refer to his interest in the digital world and its effect on human philosophy and psychology.

Until 31 May 2018 |  ‘Alternative Press’ – Work of Derek Bauer
Is an exhibition of original cartoons dedicated to the talent of cartoonist Derek Bauer. He became well-known for his inherently irreverent cartoons and caricatures of politicians and other prominent figures during the troubled and Apartheid-stricken South Africa and the turbulent world in the 1980s.

Iziko South African Museum
Until 31 December 2017 | Crossing the Ecoline
Between the atmosphere and the ocean – at the point where the absorption of carbon dioxide takes place – is the “ecoline”. This is where two environments interconnect.

The Bo-Kaap Museum, situated in the historic area that became home to many Muslims and freed slaves after the abolition of slavery, showcases local Islamic culture and heritage.

Groot Constantia Manor House with its exhibition of furniture, paintings, textiles, ceramics, brass, and copperware, provides an insight into the life of a successful 18th to late 19th century Cape farmer.

Koopmans-de Wet House
This house museum is furnished as a home for a well-to-do Cape family during the late 18th Century. It houses some of the best pieces of Cape furniture and silver in the country, in addition to a priceless collection of ceramics.

The Iziko Maritime Centre features an overview of shipping in Cape Town, and the earliest existing model of Table Bay harbour, completed in 1885 by prisoners and warders of Breakwater Prison, forms part of the exhibitions.

The Iziko Planetarium and Digital Dome, one of only 6 fully fledged planetaria on the African Continent, brings the most advanced digital visualisation technology to Cape Town.

Rust en Vreugd was built as a home for Willem Cornelis Boers, a high-ranking official of the VOC (Dutch East India Company) known as a fiscal, around 1777–1778.

Social History Centre
After a three-year programme of renovation and extension of the National Mutual Building on Church Square, it was handed back to Iziko during a media preview event held on International Museum Day, 18 May 2010.

The ADE is an event aimed at gathering a group of young men and woman who share one common interest together under one roof – We call this group of people “DENIM HEADS”. People who take Denim as a way of life and their shared interests are namely Music, Fashion, Photography and Arts.

This is an outdoor event that’s centered on creating an opportunity for local musicians, designers and artists to showcase their craft on a macro level. The outdoor feel creates a relaxed ambiance for friends and family to experience; relative to a flee-market, picnic and a live concert all at once.
